From excitement to fine dining the ship should have it all and can really make for some exciting memories. There are all sorts of cruises out there that can be taken to provide the trip of a lifetime as some will take its passengers on a voyage around the world stopping at various ports along the way for a truly remarkable and international vacation. Some cruises could be a few short days at sea enjoying the open waters and the exciting times out on a boat. Many cruise ships offer up all sorts of fun on their decks and taking advantage of the sunshine and excitement on a cruise ship. Lets talk about some of the different cruise ships offerings and what to pack for a cruise. Remember that many different cruises are offered that have extremely different options and voyages so tailoring your packing list to the specific cruise should be done.
What to pack for a cruise will depend on what type of cruise that you will be going on, what activities may go on during this cruise, and the parts of the world that the cruise ships go to. Think about what type of voyage it is going to be because when most people think about a cruise they think about a nice warm sun in the Bahamas or some tropical island chains, but cruises can take vacationers and travelers all around the globe. Some could be arctic water tours or ones that sail to the northernmost pats of Europe. Others could be sailing through the tropics, but be aware where the cruise is going to be sailing and make sure to adjust our packing list of what to pack for a cruise below. This packing list is for those going on those fun in the sun tropics cruises that most vacationers will go on.
The amount of clothes packed will vary depending on the length of the voyage. Packing for a few days or for two weeks can drasticallyy change the amount of clothes that are brought on board, but most cruise ships are fully equipped with laundry services so those longer trips can have things laundered for them. When packing for any vacation the length of the stay away from home will change how many clothes are brought and that does not change when boarding a ship.
First lets go over some of the basics for men. Make sure to pack plenty of underwear for the trip. Some shorts would be comfortable during the day and athletic shorts are great if someone wanted to work out while on board. T shirts are acceptable all day long, but most ships will have various events each night that are usually rated as to what attire is appropriate. Some nice polos and button down shirts are appropriate for most nights, but there may be a formal night where more formal attire is required. Most cruise lines may have a formal night that requires the wearing of tuxedos or suit jackets, but many have tuxedo rentals on board if one does not desire to pack those kind of clothes. Keep it classy, but casual for the most part and it will be great. Comfort is important so do not be afraid to throw on some swim trunks and kick back by the pool all day long. Business suits should suffice for any formal nigh
t if a tuxedo is not wanted, and it still keeps a very formal feel for the whole night.
The women's packing list is pretty close to what to pack for a cruise for a man. Make sure to get the underwear packed as well as some fun and comfortable shorts, dresses, and tops. There are many times to relax and get some sun in the bikini by the pool, but try to keep it clothed and classy when not around the pools. Most dresses will do for the nights on the cruise, but gowns and nice dresses are the standard for the formal night. Other than that keep it classy but comfortable so that there is plenty of comfort and enjoyment to gain from the time on the cruise.
For both sexes lets not forget some of the basic necessities. Toiletries should come along to make sure that everything is kept clean. Sandals are great for those cruises going to the sunny and warm places as there is a lot of time to be spent running around in the sun. Let the feet out with a nice pair of sandals. It can get a tad bit cool inside the cruise ships as the companies have been known to crank up the air conditioning to keep the guests comfortable so a nice sweater would not be a bad choice. Throw one in the bag and it is ready to go when things start to feel a little chilly. Cruise ships will typically provide towel service for the rooms and the pool so tools are not required, but many like to bring their own anyways.
There are many things that can be brought, but really being on a cruise is not a whole lot different from any other vacation, and some times it is even easier because there are many things available right there on the ship making it very easy to purchase things left at home.
